Navigating the rough waters of widowhood is like nothing else we have ever experienced. When we lose our person, we don’t only lose them, we lose a big part of ourselves as well. At some point in the grieving process we eventually get to a place where we want to not just survive, but create some peaceful, intentional, and joyful moments in our lives.
After my husband passed, I felt alone in my grief. I looked to help from those in the same position I was in. I also wanted to know I was not alone in this deep pain. I felt a deep need to connect with others who truly understood what this new unchartered life was like.
After some time, I realized I could either spend every day on my couch grieving and feeling a lot of despair, or I could get out of my house and experience the world around me. We all know those moments of grief will pop up heavily and at times we will need to stay put and face it head on. Of course wherever you go, there you are, so the feelings come with you. However I discovered, I could create some nice moments for myself, some slight moments of light, while still carrying the grief and love with me. I created this website to help support other widow sisters who might feel like me. If you want to venture out and begin exploring the world around you again, then this website and blog is for you. We will move one step at a time together.
This website has two very important missions
1. Gain or regain independence to help us feel a little more alive again. Whether this looks like being able to go out to dinner alone, taking a daytrip, a weekend away, or an actual vacation solo. I will be blogging about my experiences delving into this. This website will include helpful resources such as videos, article and book recommendations, tips, and travel ideas. It is all free!
2. Build actual connections with other widows beyond just the online group experience. There will be a clear and easy way to view other women in your state and even in your local area, so you can connect in person. There will also be widow retreats in various parts of the country for weekends away.

Find peace again, even in solo experiences

Little Light
“There is this little light within,
Her name is Hope,
And I know that as long as I can feel her there,
Just beneath my skin,
Sending her waves within the laybrinth of my mind,
She is snugly at peace within my heart,
And I have a chance
